Compunha seus versos celebrando o amor l\u00e9sbico entre mulheres.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Por sua posi\u00e7\u00e3o social e pol\u00edtica, Safo e sua fam\u00edlia foram deportados para a Sic\u00edlia e teve seus poemas queimados quando ela ainda era jovem. Ap\u00f3s alguns anos de ex\u00edlio, ela retornou \u00e0 ilha de Lesbos e em Mitilene inaugurou uma escola para as mulheres. Seu nome e reputa\u00e7\u00e3o deram origem aos termos Safismo e Lesbianismo &#8211; ambos usados para denominar a homossexualidade feminina.<\/p>\n<p>No m\u00eas da visibilidade L\u00e9sbica a Camtra inicia esta s\u00e9rie homenageando a mulheres l\u00e9sbicas importantes para para o movimento de l\u00e9sbicas. Em uma sociedade lesbof\u00f3bica, machista e patriarcal, a import\u00e2ncia de cada uma delas \u00e9 indiscut\u00edvel.<\/p>\n<p>Embora sejam comuns as tentativas de apagar a sua sexualidade \u00e9 imposs\u00edvel i9gnorar que o amor de Safo pelas mulheres foi
